I’m Mike Howse, a suspension nerd. I became fascinated with the progression of suspension technology in 1996 and began tuning parts in 1998. (Yep, 21 years.) I raced downhill professionally for a while but retired to go full-time as an enthusiast of all things mountain bike. My passion for suspension burns deep and I know I can improve everyone’s experiences.
I’m originally from Colorado and have ridden everything from Utah’s sandstone to French Alp steeps, though home is the Pacific Northwest’s loam. I have worked in bike shops and suspension shops, for suspension companies and bicycle manufacturers, and on the world cup race circuit.
Now I’m bringing that experience and passion to share with you.

Mike Howse is a genius. He tuned my suspension to me and it’s been a game changer. I am a 120 lb rider, some days “advanced” is fair, but definitely not expert. I love to ride, and I ride all the time. I bought a Trek Slash in small, and fiddled with the suspension settings but never seemed right. Turns out every Slash in every size comes tuned for the average rider, probably 180 lbs. He explained what he did, but honestly I am so dialed I get to go back to not thinking about it anymore.
In addition to solving my problem on the first try, he was easy to work with, listened well, and finished on time/on budget. He makes appointments so you don’t have to be off your bike more than necessary.
