Consists of two Washington State Parks ... McGarvey Park to the north (400 acres) and Spring Lake / Lake Desire Park to the south (390 acres). Trails are multi-use and have not been verified via GPS tracks for bicycles but county websites and King County recreation maps show areas open to multiple uses.

Description Update: 7/23/17 - Conducted a recon of the area and most of the trails. First, parking at the trail head is very limited (5-6 cars max). The trails are for the most part 'buff' with occasional easy-intermediate features. They wind mostly through deeply wooded forest with moderately strenuous climbs and long, fast downhills. I did not run across any significant jump or drop features on these trails. I did run across one other biker, but clearly this is not a biking destination for most. It has fantastic potential but access is problematic.

Warnings: 1.) Most corners are flat with very few having berms. 2.) People: on a beautiful sunny weekend, my ride was 'interrupted' six times with dogs and hikers over a period of four hours. Not too bad but deserves caution. 3.) Trails are two-way, multi-use (no motorized vehicles). 4.) The trail to Echo Peak (Cedar Mt.) is off limits to biking, but worth the short hike separately.

Trail ratings: 1.) The vast majority of the trail system would be considered green circle (easy) for technical, with a two-star grunt rating for climbing. Of course once at the top, letting go of the brakes will turn any green-circle trail into a bullet-fast exercise in downhill control. Remember the people coming up those same trails The exceptions to the flat trail surface that is predominate in this area is McGarvey trail which is a fun, flowy intermediate tech trail, and some unmarked trails by the powerlines which dive over precipitous cliffs (watch for badly eroded trail bed here). I also understand there is an unmarked black diamond trail descending from the top of Cedar Mt. that I need to recon next time out.

Scenic views: 1.) Mt. Rainer, Lake Views, Forest Canopy, Sweeping powerline views

This is an enjoyable, multi-use trail that has some roots and small berms. It's relatively smooth. No jumps or drops. There are easier climbs out there, but overall it's not too bad. There are some steeper sections, but an intermediate...

Pretty much a continuation of with lots of punchy climbs, rollers and flat corners, combined with roots galore, make this a fun and marginally technical stretch of trail.
        55 4.0 5,010 ft 137 ft 95
Solid short trail, my favorite in the trail system. Climb trail and turn onto the gravel trail. After 100 feet, it will turn into a short singletrack climb. Follow this trail up and shortly take a left at the fork to continue on to the...

Takes you from McGarvey over to the trails under the power lines. And to the various unsanctioned trails around the area.
        60 3.0 1,732 ft 37 ft 72
Moderately popular blue difficulty singletrack. This mountain bike primary trail can be used both directions. On average it takes 1 minutes to complete this trail.

Short connector between the lower section of the Ridge Trails to Trail. A fun down.

Drop in is located on the left before you roll down the gravel road to the water tower. A very steep and tight line descends through ferns and forest, finishing through a long chute of loose crud. Some drops and serious commits.
