SaveHammond Ridge, home of the New England Outdoor Center (NEOC), is the premier trail system in the Katahdin Area Trails network. Designed and constructed for mountain bikes, this purpose-built singletrack system winds up and down the ridge allowing trail users access from Twin Pines Cabins near the lake and Knife Edge Brewing at mid-elevation. The system contains two-way shared-use trails open to walkers, runners, and riders, as well as a variety of bike-only downhill gravity trails. In the winter these trails are available for snowshoeing and fat biking. For up-to-date information visit www.katahdinareatrails.org.
In addition to KAT's singletrack network, NEOC has a wide network of cross-country ski trails which are groomed for skate and classic skiing during the winter months. Check out the New England Outdoor Center (NEOC) website and social media for grooming updates.
