2,575 acre park within 15 minutes of Boston with great flowy open singletrack, interspersed with some hard climbs, quick downhills and fun technical features. Park spans 5 towns (Stoneham, Melrose, Winchester, Malden and Medford) and is bisected into east Fells and west Fells by Rt 93 which runs north-south through the center of the park. Good riding on both sides.Consult the DCR trail map for areas and trails that are closed to biking (including Sklyine trail -- white blazes in west Fells).

The best way to discover the Fells is to download and follow the routes listed on this page. Please avoid the Skyline Trail Route (White Blazes) as it is strictly limited to foot traffic, except for those sections of trail shared with the Reservoir and Green trails. All restricted trails are marked in the App and appears as shaded out. If you follow the Green and Reservoir routes you will not have a problem. The Green Mountain Bike Route (Green Blazes) is a relatively easy 6.4 mile loop around the North, Middle and South reservoirs on the western side of the Fells. It follows forest paths as well as double as well as some singletrack trails. The Reservoir Trail Route (Orange Blazes) is a moderately challenging 5.2 mile loop, also around the North, Middle and South Reservoirs on the West side of the Fells. This route follows a great mix of fast and flowy forest roads as well as double and single track trails, and has a good mix of flowy downhills and punchy climbs. For a more technical ride try the Rock Circuit Trail Route on the East side of I-93. This is a 3.7 mile loop around the Fells Reservoir.

All of the trails get a lot of use by hikers and joggers (both oftentimes with dogs) as well as bikers, so bikers should be extra cautious and give foot traffic the clear right-of-way to preserve amicability among all users of these great trails.
