Located in the heart of South Africa’s world-renowned Cape Winelands, the small city of the Paarl is home to many of the most famous wine estates in the Cape. In recent years Paarl has become equally famous for an exciting culture of fine dining , diverse foody experiences and adventure offerings.

But Paarl is not only about outstanding epicurean craftsmanship, it is also home to Paarl Trails, a joint initiative between Drakenstein Municipality, private landowners, Hero Legacy Project and Paarl Trails, the latter responsible for the conceptualization, development and maintenance of the trail network.

The custom-built Paarl Trails network, which caters for mountain biking, hiking and trail running, traverses the beautiful and historic Paarl mountain, with spectacular views of the picturesque Cape Winelands.

The trail network, which connects a variety of unique trail systems on many of the private wine estates and public lands surrounding Paarl Mountain, offers something for riders and runners of all fitness levels and skills abilities. The trails cross over a variety of terrain and boasts many spectacular technical trail features, ranging from novice to expert.

The Paarl Trails network is anchored by 4 main trail systems, with Rheebokskloof to the North of Paarl Mountain and Bovenland, Laborie, Fairview and Spice Route to the South. These are connected by a dense network of trails on neighboring properties as well as connecting trails over and around the Mountain.

Take a journey of discovery on our trails where there are many restaurants, guest houses, museums and craftsmen and women plying their trades. Come learn about and enjoy our foods, wines, olives and cheeses.

So, take your time to enjoy our awesome trails and enjoy a journey of discovery around our beloved Paarl Mountain.
