Take the Edwards exit and head west on Beard Ck Road towards the Shah Cancer Center on the north side. Park at the bottom of the Forest Service access road or proceed a short distance up and park at the bottom of Berry Creek Trail.

Ride up FR 774 (Berry Creek Rd) for approximately 0.8 miles and turn left on FR 780 (Edmunds Powerline Rd) and continue climbing.

Continue up FR 780 until approximately 2.1 miles from the ride start and look for Berry Creek Trail leaving the road to the left just before a sharp right turn on FR 780. Descend back to start.

At about 3 miles, a short, stiff climb returns you to the ridgeline; take a right at the top of the climb and continue to a small knoll. The trail splits in a Y at a small campsite with an old doubletrack leading right; make sure to take the left fork and stay on the singletrack.

For an even shorter version of this ride, or to add a half loop for more distance, at approximately 1.3 miles from the ride start, after cresting a saddle, you can turn left and connect to the bottom half of the descent.
