The track’s shape from an aerial viewpoint earned it its carefree name. This a perfect trail to stretch your endurance a bit if you are new to longer distances. Once completing the first ‘wing’ or half of the trail, you can easily exit back to the beginning if it is too much. You can also change it up and do it as a figure of 8, or by starting from the end, and doing it in reverse.

The meandering Peter Pan trail starts you off followed by a relaxing Serengetti trail, onto some easy, cradual Pony Jeep Track climbing. Surrounding by perfect savanna bushveld you make your way up the fun Switchback trail and then the Saddleback trail. Stope every now and then and keep a look out for some Oryx as they love this area.

The flowy Oupa trail will bring you back to the homestead from where you can just cruise down the jeep track back to the beginning.

Butterfly Loop is a 10 mile popular intermediate route located near Windhoek. This mountain bike primary route can be used both directions and has a moderate overall physical rating. This route includes 5 trails. This route climbs 1,003 ft with a max elevation of 6,085 ft then descends -1,019 ft.
