This route exposes the rider to almost all of the singletrack in the region. It minimizes the use of the Valley View Truck Trail which is just a dirt road anyway. There is a little backtracking at the eastern end on and around the Flinn Springs Overlook Trail that can be omitted if preferred. A rider could also omit heading down the Rios Canyon Connector, but they would miss out on the optional, fun embankment ride found there. The route does necessitate repeating a section a few times, looping around to get back to the top of the same hill and riding down a different path - this can be omitted as well if a shorter ride is desired. The western end has a little meandering and permits the rider to view a few optional trails if desired.
The area is busy on weekends so expect to encounter other trail users in the area - bike bell encouraged. The route takes the rider to some scenic areas so have your phone or camera handy. There isn't much shade, so prepare with plenty of water.
Ample parking is available at the shopping area to the west.
