Starta vid Högforsens kraftverksdamm eller i Lit. I Lit kan man antingen börja vid Campingen, där det finns orangeamarkeringar i form av pilar och prickar. Då kör man asfalt/grus till Sörefors och sen norrut för att ansluta till Högforsleden. Annars är den gamla starten vid tunneln under 45:an vid Norrgårdsvägens ände. Lite svårhittad start men stigen börjar direkt på östra sidan tunneln.

Den absolut finaste delen av leden är de första 4km från norr, med tallmostig utmed Hårkans branta flodstrand. De sista 4km mot Lit är av granskogstyp och går inte utmed Hårkan. Stigen är också mindre och på sommaren mer igenväxt. Dock bra markerad hela vägen.

Högforsleden is a 5 mile less popular red route located near Östersund. This trail running primary route can be used both directions. This route climbs 193 ft with a max elevation of 972 ft then descends -195 ft.
