What's better than one fast and flowy downhill? Why, two, of course. And what's better than two? Three. And that's what this route provides, three fast and flowy downhill runs that make for an enjoyable trip through the southern part of Laguna Recreation Area. So, as Ella herself once sang, Make It Thrice.

You'll start with a short bit of pavement to warm up, then it's into the first downhill, the underappreciated combination of Wooded Hill - Agua Dulce and Ridgemont-Low trails (careful of the spicy rockgarden that appears amidst the flow). A bit of fireroad takes you to the next downhill, the hooting fun of Gatos Ravine Trail. You'll then turn south, climbing up Chico Ravine Trail before turning onto Wooded Hill - Agua Dulce again, this time using it for the climb out. You'll pass the car, but don't quit now because the prize awaits. After a technically challenging climb up the eastern half of Wooded Hill Loop, you'll enjoy a long downhill run on its western side that starts fast and flowy and gets even better as you go. As you climb back to the car, you might think that three of something is just enough.

A few things to note:

1. The route is suitable for intermediate riders and consists of trails rated green and blue.

2. Please bring a bell. The trails are filled with hikers and other riders, and sightlines are often limited.

3. Be careful at the Wooded Hill Loop entrance. It's right next to the adjacent nature trail, which is off-limits to bikes. The northern entrance is the one you want.

4. All the trails are sanctioned and legal. Have fun

One large tree down about 3/4 down the trail but you can ride around it. Will need a chainsaw to cut a path through the tree.

Even with the previous weekend's rains, it's still dry but not bad. There are a few corners that are starting to get soft and silty so watch your speed. Also, USFS is prepping to do some prescribed burns based on the felled trees and tree debris piles around the meadow.Hoping the coming weekend's forecast does bring that much needed extra rain since they didn't receive much snow this winter.
