Mulino di Pegli
Pegli mill

Description:
This route, a loop ride that rewards you with amazing views of the city and of the sea, takes you into the most rugged wilderness. Its first part, uphill, follows the same route as the Enduro trail, a gravel road (signposted E1) as far as Pian delle Monache. Past the junction on your right, continue straight, keeping the building on your left hand side; from here you will come across several physically demanding ramps, with steep gradients and rough surface. As soon as you reach Fossa del Lupo, continue onto the wide track that keeps its elevation, until a short steep section that will need some portage. Once at the top of the plateau, the track clearly splits off to the right and the challenging steep descent begins.
Steep gradients, loose surface and tight corners will make it good fun for the most experienced riders. The trail reaches the ruins of an old mill that gives the route its name; keep straight to the junction and take the track slightly uphill to your left. This track leads to a fast and flowing trail immersed into the wilderness and it will take you to Val Varenna, from where on asphalt, you will soon be back to the starting point.
