This loop can be ridden in either direction - the route described here is more fun than the reverse.
TheSugarloaf Loop starts at the Wildhorse Meadow Road (2N93) turn-off highway 38. Park at the turn-off and bike up the Wildhorse Meadow Road (2N93). Head up the dirt road up to the saddle between the mountains before turning right to head down the connector trail and intercept the connector that leads up to the Sugarloaf Mountain Trail. The connector intercepts the Sugarloaf Mountain trail. This section begins an out-and-back to the summit. Head left at the junction up to the top of the mountain - a very tough, rocky trail rewarded by 9952 feet elevation at the top. Upon reaching the top head back down the trail and upon reaching the trail junction this time follow the Sugarloaf Trail left, down and to the north to the Wildhorse Meadow Road (2N93). Cross the dirt road and follow Green Canyon Rd (2N93B) back to the starting parking area. Riders can optionally dismiss the out-and-back spur leading to the top of the mountain for a shorter, less strenuous ride.
