The trail is constantly evolving and sections are being added. This route is current for July 2023 only and will probably be outdated by the end of the season as trail work continues.
July 2023 route for The Dragon around the Hardy Dam Pond. This route starts and finishes at the Sandy Beach County Park in Newaygo County, Michigan. The day pass for this County Park is $7, but access to the beach, use of the showers, and access to rinse and potable water makes it a good option. I cannot verify the section on the Northwest corner of the route between Newcosta Ave. and 7 Mile Road. I did not ride this small section, but based on the Strava Heatmap, people are taking this route. I highly recommend riding the dragon in a "clockwise" direction, keeping to the Western shore of the Hardy Dam Pond and first and then riding North and looping back along the Eastern shore. There are a variety of single and double jumps with some added flat rock kickers along the way. Most of these accommodate riders heading in the clockwise direction. Counterclockwise can be fun, but not as much as the other direction.
