3N09.1 is the 'secondary loop' road in the Crystal Lake basin, accessing the old picnic area adjacent the lake, and the lower trailhead for the Islip Ridge Trail. There is parking at the start for 10-12 cars along the main Crystal Lake Road (3N09). The road is closed to motor vehicles, but sees occasional Ranger and LEO traffic.

Note that the various loop roads comprising the campground are also designated 3N09.1, but have a letter suffix (3N09.1A, B, C...H). These CG loops are clearly signed as 'Loop A' etc.
