The Archery Range Trail is the easiest trail in the South Hills, and is very popular with beginners. It's a beautiful piece of low-angle singletrack on the flank of Mount Ascension, and can be reached via the Eagle Scout Trail, which is the easiest climbing route in the South Hills. The trail is buff, with long sightlines.

Stay on the trail and don't drop down the hill to Davis Gulch, as there is an archery range below.
