Arrastre Canyon Trail ascends from the low-point of 4N32 Aliso-Arrastre Cutoff, where the road crosses a large dry wash. Meander up through small hills, crossing a jeep trail and several small drainages. Gain a prominent ridge with a switchback, then climb steadily up-canyon. Grade is moderate with steep spots, several small creek crossings. Overall, this is a varied and interesting trail, one of the best in the area.
On the lower slopes, there is no shade. Higher up is the usual mix of oak and fir. The area burned in the Station Fire, so standing snags are common, and windstorms cause lots of deadfall.
This ride is out-and-back. The trail/road bed extends to 3N17, at a saddle below the fire camp site, but status of that segment is unknown.
