This starts off as a pretty easy fire road climb, and would be a fast, but not wildly exciting decent coming from Chestnut Mtn.
As the trail goes on it gets more primitive.
Once you hit the field with the old homestead, the trail takes a left and heads straight up the hill for a mile or so.
This section is the some of the steepest trail I've seen. Good luck.
At the top you'll see a trail sign to get to Chestnut.
