Beech Grove trail, which is bi-directional, provides good access to Iron Mountain, and can be used to connect various loops. At the Iron Mountain end of the trail Beech Grove starts from on one end of Feathercamp Ridge at approximately 2830 ft. From that pointBeech Grove drops over 600 ft. to Hwy 58 and the VA Creeper Trails Straight Branch parking lot.
The upper portion of Beech Grove has tight switchbacks and a number of bench cut sections. Below the initial drop the trail widens and straightens out, creating ideal conditions to open up the backburners. This section has some rocky sections ranging in places from gravel, to baby heads, to slabs. There are intermittent wet sections that range from muddy seeps to actual stream beds flowing down the trail.
