The Big Buck Road connects Aliso-Arrastre Cutoff (4N32) to Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17), east of Mount Gleason. The road follows Edison power lines up a long ridge, passing Big Buck CG and a junction with the Pacific Crest Trail (closed to bikes). The grade is easy to moderate, with sections of loose rock and sand, traveling through desert scrub for most of the journey.
There is usually water available at a creek crossing near the low end of the road, and at a spring near the PCT junction. Water from either source should be filtered or treated.
Service Road Atlas is a free to use, community-driven service for viewing and creating reports on the numerous back-country service roads around B.C. and Alberta.
