A fun trail with ups and downs and a great little hoodoo called Split Rock near the top. Can be sandy and loose in places when dry.

Spring 2026: The trail has been re-routed in several places to reduce the grade for climbing and to move the trail off private property. Towards the bottom the trail now splits and Lower BST is routed onto a new trail that was built in 2025 and opened in spring 2026. The new trail is bi-directional and climbs well.

At the split, the original line that descends along the river is still open and is signed Lower BST Alternate. This section is very steep with some exposure. It is open to two-way traffic, so watch your speeds.
