Kind of a double track trail that takes you through First Landing State Park. Nice for an easy stroll through the woods. The western end starts in the neighborhood as a paved walking/biking path. It crosses the residential roads and the very busy Great Neck Road before crossing into the state park. The paved section in the state park is less maintained so roots and potholes make it less smooth. As the path approaches the trail center parking lot it crosses Cyprus Swamp Road and finally becomes a wide, smooth dirt path. This section is popular for walkers, strollers, runners, families, tourists, commuters, and bikers and can be busy. The path crosses the 64th Street state park entrance road and as it passes over a bridge it becomes much more narrow and less maintained. This section feels a little more like mountain biking and is good for beginning trail riders. A couple more nice bridges, and good views make the ride a pleasure. There are a few sandy spots - and one big one in particular - which can make bike handling a challenge.

The First Landing State Park is open from 8AM to dusk. Parking fees apply for cars entering the state park.
