The "Chalk snake". A short but steep loose on your brakes single track trail to be ridden at a snails pace from which drops and winds you down a steep sided valley in the beautiful Croxby chalk stream woods. Please walk the trail first and take in mind that the trail is built towards the more advanced semi professional riders and above in terms of riding ability. There are also a few other short steep descents to be had in this part of the woodland. Please note this is private woodland located next to a bridlepath. Please park near to the Bridlepath. This is not an official trail. The trail is gnarly and loose.
If you park down by the valley bottom on the road down by the bridlepath then follow the bridlepath eastwards until you hit the chalk stream. Turn right prior to the Chalk stream and cut through a gap in the hedge row and follow the single track in elevation alongside the crest of the hill side until you find an old yew tree. The yew tree should be forward facing and valley left facing from which you will find the trail visible before you. There are also a few lines to explore along the crest of the hill which are more subtle.
