This is the most popular and easier route to get to the top of Grandeur Peak. It requires a drive up the canyon, but this gives you some altitude start, and the trail has nice switchbacks to ease the ascent. This hike is still long and strenuous, but you are no scrambling up the ridge on the face. Once to the top of the ridge there is nice views into Parley's Canyon. The trail itself is mostly smooth with some shale int spots as you get closer to the ridge.
There is a little service road that winds up the Church Fork to a nice trailhead with good parking. The trail starts at the trailhead, crosses over the Mill Creek Pipeline Trail and continues up Church Fork.
