Colquhoun Peak is three miles south of Kelly Butte and one of many peaks that used to host a lookout tower. The summit gives partial views of the surrounding countryside and in a few years will become completely overgrown. Getting to the trail requires a high-clearance vehicle, but once at the trailhead the trail is easy to follow up to the summit, about a half mile, with only a 600 feet elevation gain. This route is a walk-up trail and can be accomplished by most hikers. Along way enjoy views of Kelly Butte and Sawmill Ridge. Near the summit is another chance to see out across the valley.
Service Road Atlas is a free to use, community-driven service for viewing and creating reports on the numerous back-country service roads around B.C. and Alberta.
