This trail stretches the east-west length of the Otay Valley Regional Park. It currently runs from just west of the I-5 and heads east to the I-805. Planning is in progress to expand the park in the future to further east and up to the Otay Lakes. The majority of this popular path is wide and smooth and makes for easy running or cycling. There are a few places to stop and view wildlife in little ponds and in running water that drains from the Otay Lakes down to the bay. Informational placards are placed in various spots to give depth of understanding about the region. There are a few other paths and trails that cross this trail and small signposts help guide the way. Expect to encounter other trail users on any given visit. Bell encouraged for cyclists. A portion of the western section passes through a tree nursery, be cautious for vehicles at work.
Open from sunrise to sunset.
