Start at the Lytle Creek Ranger Station and take the well defined nature trail behind the ranger station which then follows the buried flowline supplying water to Lytle Creek powerhouse. Continue straight at the junction where the nature trail turns right and heads back to the ranger station. The trail merges with a dirt road for about 0.15 miles before becoming singletrack again.
Continue to follow the flowline (sometimes visible above ground) all the way to its end at the rectangular concrete forebay before the water makes its final drop down to Lytle Creek powerhouse below. This trail may be ridden in either direction as an out and back or loop it with the dirt road at the eastern end of the trial. The eastern 2 miles of the trial is over soft decomposed granite with lots of fist sized rocks which can drain momentum.
Park at the Lytle Creek Ranger station and access the start of this trail just behind the paved native plant garden network of short paved trails.
