Die Mountainbike-Trails Winterstein bestehen aus zwei Strecken, die beide auf dem Steinkopf in rund 500 Meter Höhe über NN starten und in verschiedene Richtung talwärts führen. Blaue, rote und schwarze Markierungen weisen auf die Schwierigkeiten einzelner Passagen hin, die auf sog. „Chickenways“ auch umfahren werden können. Die Trails am Winterstein richten sich sowohl an den ambitionierten Bergabsportler als auch an den Cross Country Tourenfahrer „Handkääs“ hat Cross Country-Charakter und führt nach Süden zum Römerkastell Kapersburg. Auf 3,8 Kilometern geht es 200 Höhenmeter hinab über wellige Passagen und kleinere Wurzelstöcke. Der Trail ist für MTB-Anfänger und Kinder geeignet. Zum Startpunkt des Trails auf dem Steinkopf gelangen Sie mit dem Bike gut unter anderem vom Naturpark-Parkplatz „Am Wehrholz“ in Wehrheim-Pfaffenwiesbach.
