This trail is a quick out-and-back with a spectacular view of of the Linville Gorge to the east and the foothills to the west (on clear days, you may even seen the outlines of the skyscrapers in Charlotte). Climb is relatively steady up until just before the summit when the grade becomes steeper and rockier.
