The "Hippy-Mid" is the middle section of the full "3 Hippies" strava trail. The Hippy Mid starts just below the quarry where the hippy upper exits onto the forestry road. It's a flowy trail, mainly loamy with rooty sections underwheel with a selection of berms, drops and plenty of variety as it criss-crosses over an old dyke line. If you've never been to Balquhidder before a top tip is, once you reach the bottom of the trail, rather than heading straight on down the Lower Hippy, turn left along teh forest path and ride 150 metres to a gate. Go through the gate and up a techy 40 metre climb to the most awesome viewpoint called "Turic Rock" (Great Photo Opp). Then you can either return back to the Mid Hippy Trail end to continue on down the Hippy - Lower trail... OR, if you prefer you can descend from Turic Rock on the Yeti (black trail).

Access Info

Park at Balquhidder Hall or Balquhidder Kirk and access Kirkton Glen using forestry roads. The start is of this trail section just below the quarry.
