The switchbacks appear mostly designed for hikers, not horses or mountain bikes. Above them is a maze of trails that is not well signed, but once you get up to the canal road (in the National Forest), it is easy to follow.
The Forest Service does not have this on their maps, but Provo considers it an official trail.
