Jaw is a challenging trail and suitable only for good riders, comfortable with long narrow bridges, of which there are many on this trail. This is what earns the trail its double black status. The trail is generally smooth with a hard-packed surface, interspersed with some roots. While the trail can be ridden in both directions, the preferred direction is to ride it as a downhill - north to south.
From the south Jaw can be accessed off the Vast, near the intersection with Darling Hill Road (South) and from the north, either via Maxilla or Sugar Hill.
CAUTION: Many long, narrow bridges.
