From Saddleback trail intersection, Juan trail descends towards the Nuns Corner pullout and the Little Tesuque trail. The trail is a short, fast, rocky blast down the ridge to the intersection and has a few technically challenging gotcha moments as it rapidly descends towards the intersection with the Little Tesuque Trail. While the trail is bi-directional it would generally be a miserable experience to climb. Also, while there are hikers on this trail, it is far less popular in this regard than Winsor or Chamisa tend to be.
