Kotobuki is blazed purple with black dot. It is named after a Japanese restaurant that used to exist near the start of the trail.

In 2016 there was a major reroute coordinated by Trail Pittsburgh. Rockwater Trail Services was hired in to machine build a raised tread flow trail. It has less roots and rocks than much of North Park but is still challenging due to it being a high speed downhill.
