This trail can be taken in either direction. Taken in the direction indicted is a descent from the top and provides an alternative way down, or up if you return via Lizard Peak Trail down.
This is a slightly more challenging trail with a bit more exposure than Lizard Peak Trail both ascending and descending; the gradient is a bit steep but the trail is shorter. It is on the less severe side of the Black range.
There is a short section in the middle where the trail scales down (or up) a couple of 2' steps where hand and feet placings are required.
If using this trail to ascend take some time at the top to enjoy the views whilst recovering your breath. See if you can spot the Lizard constructed in rocks at the bottom. There are benches and a table at the top.
This is not a trail for bikers.
