Technically you can ride your bike on this trail, and I have done it. It is no fun, and slowly gets to the point where it is just annoying. It is very narrow and gets quickly overgrown with sharp branches. Several sections are totally washed out, and you have to hike-a-bike.
For hiking this is a pretty good trail, though the overgrown nature still applies. The ridge climb is pretty brutal on the thighs but gets easier on the cardio once you reach Loafer Mountain Peak. This trail continues all the way to the summit of Santaquin Peak.
The last half mile, from the saddle to Santaquin Peak, is actually on state land, part of Mt. Loafer Wildlife Management Area.
