A moderately steep trail through beautiful forest with great views of the Dungeness River valley and surrounding mountains. It is on a steep sidehill in many places, where a fall could be serious; not recommended for beginning riders.

The lower miles are unrelentingly steep climbing. This can be avoided by starting at the Three O'Clock Ridge trail, and then riding up the more moderate upper miles of the Lower Dungeness River trail.
