This is a really cool hike that takes you up a steep hollow and close to cliff side views of the valley. Not the iconic Lake Blanche across the road, but some great rocky trails and offers a connection to the Desolation Trail. Along the hike is a little waterfall and some old mining ruins as well.

Access Info

The Mill B South Fork Trailhead gets very crowded during the summer weekends. But as the cars start to park higher and higher up the S-Curve, this hike is an easy walk from your car.

A few inches of slush on the trail. Deeper snow sides less than a foot in some areas. Snow shoes appropriate for some of trail. Boots were fine too.
