Traveling north on this section begins with a sharp climb up a smooth granite exposed ridge. Once at the top the trail spans a rock spill that requires careful attention. The woodland path that follows turns into an extremely challenging climb to Lookout Point. Hands are required on near-vertical sections and a slip could be perilous.
