This trail climbs to the summit of Mt. Ellen (11,522ft), the highest point in Garfield County. There is very little shade along the way. This route ends at the highest peak, but topo maps show "Ellen Peak" further north, which is actually a few feet lower.
This trail is in a wilderness area, so no bikes or motor vehicles.
