From the Galena waterfall follow the trail marked to Mount Rose Summit, it states from the waterfall that the summit is 3 miles further. There are four creek crossings which even in summer may have water running. The trail skirts a beautiful alpine pasture with plenty of wild flowers to enjoy. After the meadow and a short traverse the trail starts to climber steeper up towards the saddle before the last mile up to the summit. This last mile is a bit of a push but nothing too bad. Sometimes the wind can blow strong when on the top of the ridge.
