This trail is almost exclusively used for hiking, although bikes are not prohibited. It's also a common egress trail for climbers. The section of trail that ascends to the saddle between Victoria and Royal is steep, straight, and loose. That section should give some riders a reason to be concerned. It won't be hard for skilled bike handlers, but that kind of straight-line braking will not be friendly for others. That makes this considerably harder than trails like Peaks, earning the black rating.
