Leon County expands outdoor recreational offerings with the newly opened Orchard Pond Road trail. Located at 5861 Orchard Pond Road, the new 3.43 mile multi-use trail has a lot to offer hikers, bikers, runners and equestrians as the NEWEST addition to Leon County’s trail system.
Accessed from Old Bainbridge Road, the WESTERN trailhead accommodates horse trailers and passenger vehicles alike. An EASTERN trailhead can be accessed by users of the recently completed Orchard Pond Parkway toll road. However, the trailhead off of the toll road only accommodates passenger vehicles.
Part of Leon County’s Greenway Master Plan, Orchard Pond Trail supports the County’s vision to create a linked community-wide greenway system that contributes significantly to the connectivity, preservation, protection and enhancement of biologically diverse areas and habitats.
