This trial is clearly marked with signs and blue blazes. It is locally posted as a SQUARE trail to indicate that it is a MODERATE trail between 1 and 5 miles; with steepness and grade lengths that vary; at least 60 percent of the length is fairly flat; healthy people can accomplish the trail with little risk of injury or fatigue. The trail is ~2.5 miles long Those wanting a secluded trail for hiking or running often pick Osmanthus Trail, which loops off of Bald Cypress Trail. It has a few wooden boardwalks over swamps and small gradual hills.
Parking at First Landing State Park is available at the trail center for a small fee. Fee may be waived during winter seasons. The park is open from 8AM to dusk.
