Patterson Trail begins at the Big Eightmile Creek Campground outside of Leadore. The trail leaves the campground, heading roughly WSW and heading up the drainage. The two track crosses the creek once before ascending up the left side of the drainage with a few switchbacks before coming to a junction just below a rocky slope. The trail to the right takes the rider to Eightmile Lake in about .5 miles. The track to the left continues to switchback up to the saddle before meeting Patterson Creek drainage. The two-track is almost all rideable with some rock gardens and a few steep pitches to test the rider.

Access Info

Best access is from Lee Creek Road from Leadore, then taking Big Eightmile Creek Road to the campground. Big Eightmile Creek road is rough and full of big pot holes. Higher clearance vehicles are recommended.

Tough climb, great views. This is a doubletrack trail that seems to get a lot of ATV/side by side use. A few downed trees.
