This is a nice loop without too much elevation gain, but with some short punchy climbs and some small technical challenges that are more difficult than the valley trails. It has nice views of both the reservoir and the Lory Valley. There is little shade on the loop. The west side of the loop runs along the ridge, but not close enough to the cliff edge to be intimidating along most of its length. The very north end has a bit of exposure. The trail surface is rocky and takes advantage of some natural rock features to add some challenge and make the trail more sustainable. The loop can be ridden in both directions, but the preferred direction is clockwise and the obstacles are easier in that direction.
From the Arthur's Rock parking lot, go east on the Shoreline trail past the entrance to Hucka Yucca. Trail entrance is on the left after you cross the top of the ridge.
