The 2.71 mile long ridge trail serves as a major connect between Red Rock Crossing and west Sedona. The trail has numerous intermediate sections, but an intermediate rider will find a number of sections very challenging due to the uphill nature of the trail in many sections.

The easiest direction to ride the trail is northeast to southwest. There is certainly more downhill component in that direction and if you ended up riding the other direction there are many steep sections an expert rider would have to walk.

Advanced skilled riders normally don't ride Ridge all the way from the Recycle Center to the Crescent Moon Park they take the Old Ridge trail to Sketch for a more challenging ride with spectacular views.
