A short singletrack climb from the access road brings you to Cheese Rock & a large granite slab with numerous options.

NOTE: Take caution, there are numerous fall hazards here On the minor level are breaks in the rock slab with 5-20 foot drops. On a more major level is the large fall hazard along the North side of the rock (riders right). The ride up to cheese rock is fine for everyone. The rock slab should only be attempted by experienced riders with good judgement.
While good views are to be had along the top of the rock, for the descent stay riders left of the slab on a sandy trail for the first part to avoid a large drop. After that, multiple lines can be ridden down the face, just look before you leap!

Access Info

Park at the end of the pavement on W. Fork Teanaway with a Discover Pass. Ride behind the yellow gate, hang a left to cross the river on a bridge. As you head up Carlson Canyon, there are two options. To push up the rock, take the first left to a creek crossing before you start climbing away from the river, then follow the trail on the other side of the creek to the base of the rock. If you want to ride most of the way up, stay on Carlson Canyon Rd for around .9 from the parking lot until it crosses over the creek (via culvert) in that drainage. Take the left road, climbing steeply to a saddle. Here you will see the Cheese Rock trail climbing up a sandy slope to your left. The first part is rideable, the last part of the trail is a push.

This trail is unsanctioned.

Exiting the slab is really unclear, some exit chutes appear to have filled up with sticks and logs that have washed down the slab.
