Start on the road just before dropping down to the valley leading up to Juanacatlan. The upper two-thirds of this ride is a rolling blue (intermediate) pedal through the woods. For the final third, the terrain steepens into rock drops, tight eroded troughs, braided trail through the more techy sections, and tight turns that are tricky to navigate—which can make on-the-fly line selection a little treacherous, though nothing out of the ordinary for the area. Don't get lulled into thinking this is a blue cruiser Still a classic and should not be left out of your ride selection. You'll pop out on the road and can ride back up or have your shuttle driver grab you and take you back up the hill.
