8.6km one-way from the upper parking lot to the beautiful Joe L'Orsa Cabin in the alpine. The first few km are easy, after that it becomes steeper and rougher, but it is possible to bike the whole way in 1 hour. Going down is much faster, but be aware that in summer time there are a fair number of hikers out there, especially on weekends.

Access Info

Head east out of Smithers, turn up Old Babine Lake Road just out of town, turn left onto Telkwa High Road, turn right onto Driftwood Road and follow to the end. If you wish to extend your ride, park at the lower parking lot (where Driftwood road ends at the hairpin corner, and the Provincial Park begins) for an extra 4.6 km up and down.
