The Richmond Slave Trail is a trail that chronicles the history of the trade of enslaved Africans from Africa to Virginia until 1775, and away from Virginia, especially Richmond, to other locations in the Americas until 1865.
From the "Mayo Bridge" on 14th street, look for a paved path on the upstream side of the south end of the bridge. Follow this to a road that also intersects the flood wall. Take a left continuing under the I-95 bridge. As you are under the I-95 bridge, look for a trail to begin on the left. Follow this for a ways to a parking lot.
Fishermen/women frequent the area at Ancarrow’s Landing so keep your eyes open for children and others crossing the path.
